Simon & Garfunkel have two 3-CD box sets collecting their entire career output, one with out-takes and live recordings, but the duo who were among the bestselling acts of the 1960s only recorded five studio albums throughout the entire 1960s! Their studio perfectionism is never better served than here. This greatest hits is simple and to the point, a perfect collection for anyone looking to get the basic idea (and hits) without committing to a more serious relationship. The harmonies, Paul Simon's masterful songwriting, Garfunkel's soaring choirboy voice, are all here. --Rob O'Connor

Slow getting delivered (2009-06-03)
The item was delivered either at the very end of the date range or after it. Arrived in good shape.

All my favorites in one album (2009-04-04)
The title says it. All my favorite Simon & Garfunkel songs are all in this one album. Even if you're not that big of a Simon & Garfunkel fan, you will definitely enjoy this album since it's packed with the best songs. I would recommend it to anybody who likes them as well.

Great music (2008-12-29)
This CD is 44 minutes and 18 seconds long and was released on June 14, 1972. It reached #5 on the United States charts and #2 on the United Kingdom charts. Go figure. It was a 14x multi-platinum album. It features their number 1 songs Sounds of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, and Bridge Over Troubled Water. Overall this is a great CD for people like me who like Simon and Garfunkel, but don't own any of their material. This is 5 star material all the way.

One of the biggest consumer rip-offs ever (2008-10-14)
First of all let me say I LOVE SIMON AND GARFUNKEL and their music is wonderful. But what we have here is somebody's mistaken idea that a greatest hits album should for some reason not include greatest hits! That's what I thought when the album was first released on vinyl, and here we are still dealing with this rip-off almost four decades later. And I do mean RIP OFF because nowhere on the jacket does it say that several of the tracks are alternate live recordings and that the applause at the end of those tracks absolutely ruins the beginnings of the real hits that are included. Hearing Bridge Over Troubled Water on this album makes me cringe!!!! Buyer beware! This is not what you're looking for. You owe it to yourself to opt for Sony's Best Of collection at any price. This is a disgrace to anyone who appreciates truly classic songs.

Careful - Tracks 4 & 8 are Live and Track 8 bleeds into Track 9! (2008-09-13)
If you want the songs you remember, avoid this CD in favor of the "Definitive Simon & Garfunkel" Sony TVK 24003 available at
http://www.amazon.com/Definitive-Simon-Garfunkel/dp/B0000566K2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1221346327&sr=1-1

These Tracks are problematic:
4. 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - Live version
8. Homeward Bound - Live version
9. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Original ruined by applause bleed-in from end of previous track!

In addition, this CD is missing these songs that are worthwhile:
Seven O'Clock News/Silent Night
A Hazy Shade Of Winter

There are a couple of other songs on the Definitive that are just okay.
Neither album contains "Keeping the Customer Satisfied," one of my personal favorites.

I recommend "The Definitive" album over this one if you want a complilation on one CD.
